Tamiya T-34 Flak38 Conversion 1/35th scale This is Karl's model of the Flakpanzer built by 653rd schwere (heavy) Panzerjäger Abteilung FlakPanzer in the summer of 1944. The real tank was a captured T-34/76 with quad 20mm Flak38's inside a turret made from parts of a destroyed SPW 251. In Karl's case, the turret was taken from the Maquette T-34/76(r) kit. The Quad guns and the T-34 chassis were both Tamiya. The engine and radiator came from the DML T-34/76 1941 kit. Ammo racks and the base of the turret were both scratchbuilt. Photos by Eric Choy. |

Renwal 1/32nd USMC Ontos This is a Vietnam era USMC M50 Ontos. Using the old Renwal 1/32nd kit, I replaced the recoilless rifles (from six Academy M151A1 kits) and updated the details with brass wires, leftover PE parts, and miscellaneous items from my spare parts box. Photos by Eric Choy. |
