Tamiya 1/35th  King Tiger (Henschel Turret)

This is Tamiya's 1/35th Henschel turret Tiger II. This was the production model of the King Tiger.  I did it in a three tone hard-edge ambush camouflage.

The only additions I had to the model were replacing the treads with Tamiya individual link treads, brass air intake screens which were a Tamiya after market kit, and a Jordi Rubio turned barrel. The figure in the turret is a modified Tamiya tank commander. It model depicts a King Tiger at the battle of Bastogne.  Photograph by Rick Herrington.

Tamiya 1/35th SdKfz 223 Strassenpanzer

This is Tamiya's 1/35th scale SDKFZ 223. It's a great kit even if it is showing it's age.

You can't see it in the photo but I've added a complete interior to this little jewel.  I cut out all the vents and replaced them with brass mesh. I also rebuilt the turret machine gun.  The version was used throughout the war as a recon vehicle. The paint scheme comes directly from the pages of Squadron's Panzer Colors.  Photograph by Rick Herrington.
