AMPSCentex Presents AMPS South Central Region Show 2007 
Introduction
Austin Armor Builders Society The AMPSCentex South Central Region Show will be held October 20th, 2007 at the Texas Military Forces Museum, Camp Mabry, in Austin, Texas.  This will be our biggest show yet, and the vendor list is growing and we always have the Best door prizes in Texas! Armor Modeling and Preservation Society
Show Theme 
Artwork provided by Jody Harmon (C) http://www.jodyharmon.com The show theme is "Winter Warfare".  Any vehicle or figure or diorama or vignette in winter warfare setting from 1899 to present day would be eligble to particpate for the theme award.

Show and Vendor Information 
Hotel 

We have obtained a special hotel rate for our show. Please contact Joan Boquet of Amerisuites Arboretum at 512-231-8491 and ask for the “AMPS” rate. The rate is $70.00 USD a night. We have a block of 20 rooms. Call before October 7th, 2007 to reserve a room. Rooms will be released after that date.  If you are coming to the show and a need a place to stay I recommend making your reservations now before all the rooms get reserved.

The Main entrance to Camp Mabry has been closed to public access due to the security measures since the September 11th, 2001 terriost attacks. All, public traffic must enter via Maintenance Drive off of West 35th street. The show will be in Building 6 (General Mabry Boulevard) at the Texas Military Forces Museum.

From the MOPAC Expressway (i.e., Loop 1). Exit the MOPAC Expressway (i.e., Loop 1). Exit the MOPAC Expressway at 35th Street. Go west on 35th Street 6/10ths of a mile to the gated entrance of Camp Mabry (i.e., Maintenance Drive). After passing through security, go straight to the stop sign and turn right. At the next stop sign, turn right again. Follow General Mabry Boulevard past the running track on your left. Building 6 will be on your right, next to an outdoor display of tanks and military vehicles. The main entrance for the Museum is the large white double doors at the center of the building.

From IH-35. Make certain you are on the lower level of the Interstate. Take the 38˝ Street exit going west. Note that as it proceeds westward, 38˝ Street becomes 35th Street. After crossing over Loop 1, follow the instructions above.

From the Airport. Take Highway 71 West to Highway 360 North to Loop 1 North. Travel five (5) miles on Loop 1 to 35th Street. Follow the instructions above from that point.

Entering Camp Mabry. At the current time, the post is open to the public during daylight hours without prior arrangements. The security guards, however, may require you to present some form of valid state or federal identification and to consent to a search of the vehicle.
