There were 20 members present at the August 2005 meeting and 5 visitors (A new record). The five visitors were Jimi Alsman's son, Robert Clark, Ejeo Garza, Tony Morgan, and Nizam Jafar. Our President Don Jones was absent due to business conflicts.

Meeting Highlights
This was one of our busiest meetings yet! We had the T-34 Model 1941 Team build contests and we wrapped up the Club Auction with almost all the donated kits being auctioned off. The left over kits from the auction will be auctioned off at the September club meeting.
Yoon Park brought in his M4A4 Sherman Crab tank in British markings.
Sam Brister showed us some of his amazing figures and a neat 1/35th scale British truck.
Carey McGaw brought in his 1/35th scale Panther in late war camoflage.
David Edgerly showed us a quick look at his Dragon 3 in 1 Early Tiger I.
Jorge Adunadisplayd his new Trumpeter 12.8 cm Selbstfahralfette "Sturer Emil" tank destroyer.
Visitors brought in an impressive M1A2 Abrams and a JagdPanther.
T-34 Model 1941 Team Build Club Contest
The T-34 Model 1941 Team Build Club Contest was finally held. Each team brought in their models. The winner was selected by a majority vote. Each member attending had two votes to cast. The winner of the contest was Team 3 (Don Jones, Patrick Rourke, Jorge Aduna, and Bob Bethea )! Each winning team member will recieve a $25.00 Gift Certificate to The Village Hobby Shop. Gift Certificates donated by George Lewis of The Village Hobby Shop! Thank you Geroge!

Club Show Theme
Theme: The C.B.I. - Pacific Theatre 1931 - 1945
The AMPS South Central Region show (AMPSCENTEX 2005) theme has been choosen! The theme will be "The C.B.I. (China, Burma, India) - Pacific Theatre 1931 - 1945". This will include everything begining from 1931 in Manchuria through 1945.
The show will be held October 28-29, 2005 at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas.
Club Auction
First of all, a big thank you to everyone who participated in the Club Auction! Those of you who dontated kits and those of you who purchsed them really helped the club out. We were able to rasie $231.00.
Raffle Winner
This month's Raffle Winner was Ejeo Garza . He took home the Academy M551 Sheridan Airborne Assault Vehicle. Kit No: 13011. Again, a big thank you to Terry D. Lowman for providing the Raffle prize!!
Club Dues
Annual Dues are due each September. Please pay Treasurer Rick Herrington $12.00 to continue your membership and continue receiving the Sabot Away! Newsletter.
